Law enforcement contract between Troutdale, Sheriff's Office up for Multnomah County approval | OregonLive.com






Comments Multnomah County commissioners are scheduled this week to vote on an agreement between the Sheriff's Office and the city of Troutdale for law enforcement services. City councilors, in a split vote last month, approved the proposal to disband their police department and pay the Sheriff's Office $3.7 million for 16 deputies and support staff to cover more than 16,000 residents.

Law Enforcement Makes Clean Sweep Of Drug Dealers, Traffickers | Van Zandt Newspapers











According to Chief Deputy Keltner and Marshal Davis, approximately 16 people were arrested on warrants and nearly every bit of it happened in Van. The seven month long investigation by the Canton PD, ATF and VZC Sherriffs office yielded the indictments. The press release states that some warrants were served on subjects already in custody; some were served during traffic stops; while most were served at the wanted individuals residence. Two search warrants were executed, one in VZC and one in Wood County which also yielded arrests. Chief Deputy Keltner said that he was grateful and appreciated the efforts of all of the departments and the seven months included all that is good and great about law enforcement tactics. More than half of the suspects that were arrested will be prosecuted in federal court with the remainder being prosecuted in the VZC district court on state charges, the press release states. The combined effort of approximately 50 officers from the VZC Sheriffs Office, Wood County Sheriffs Office, Van Mashals office, Canton Police Department, Van Police Department, the ATF, United States Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division, the VZC Fire Marshals office, Smith Co.

The Shawnee County Sheriffs Office in conjunction with the United States Marshals Service- Sex Offender Investigations Branch conducted a four-day operation they called Capital City Cleanup April 8- 11. During the effort local, state and federal law enforcement agencies worked to ensure registration compliance of convicted sex offender throughout Shawnee County. Officers visited offenders homes or places of employment. More than 350 compliance verifications were conducted.
